Materials and tools:
Original yarn: Kid`s cotton (100% mercerized cotton, 330m/361 yds per 100 g skein) approx. 47 yds.
Alternative yarn: #2 Fine / Sport. You can use any yarn.
2.00 mm hook
Stuffing (polyfil, yarn straps, etc.)
Yarn needle
Scissors
Stitch markers
Finish size: when using similar materials, the doll will be 8 cm - 3" high and 5,5 cm – 2" wide.
Abbreviations (US)
- blo - back loop only
- ch – chain
- flo - front loop only
- inc – increase – work 2 sc in 1 st of previous rnd
- PM - put marker
- rep – repeat

- sc – single crochet
- sc2tog – single crochet 2 together (sc dec)
- sl st – slip stitch

1. LEGS (make 2)
First leg
Make a magic ring of 6sc, sl st
Rnd 1: ch1, repeat (inc )*6, sl st (12)
Rnd 2: ch1, repeat (1 sc, inc) *6, sl st (18)
Rnd 3: blo: 18 sc
Rnds 4-5: 18 sc
Rnd 6: 18 sc, sl st. Cut the yarn and weave in ends. PM to indicate the last sc in this round. I use a piece of yarn in a contrasting color.
Second leg
Repeat first leg, but don`t cut the yarn!
2. BASIC CREWMATE BODY
Сontinue crochet from the second leg.
Rnd 1: ch 2, take the first leg and crochet sl st through the loop marked with a marker, 1 sc, put another marker (indicate the beginning of the Rnd 1 of the body), 17 sc on the first leg, 1 sc on the next 2 ch, 18 sc on the second leg, 1 sc on the next 2 ch (40).
Rnd 2: 40 sc
Rnds 3-16: repeat Rnd 2 (40)
Rnd 17: repeat (sc2tog, 6 sc)* till the end of row (35)
Rnd 18: repeat (sc2tog, 5 sc)* till the end of row (30)
Stuff the Body and stuff as you go.
Rnd 19: repeat (sc2tog, 4 sc)* till the end of row (25)
Rnd 20: repeat (sc2tog, 3 sc)* till the end of row (20)
Rnd 21: repeat sc2tog, 2 sc)* till the end of row (15)
Rnd 22: repeat (sc2tog, 1 sc)* till the end of row (10)
Cut the yarn with long tail and tight the top of the head by front loop only. Hide the end of the thread.
3. SPACE HELMET
Chain 11
Rnd 1: 1 sc int second ch from the hook, 8 sc, 3 sc in the next st, turn, 9 sc, st st (21)
Rnd 2: ch 1, inc, 8 sc, 3 inc, 8 sc, inc, 1 sc, sl st (27)
Rnd 3: ch 1, 27 sc, sl st.
Using black yarn crochet sl st along the last round of the helmet. Fasten off, leaving a long tail approx. 40 cm (16 inch).
Stuff lightly and attach to the front of the body between rounds 11-15 of body. Make sure the piece is centered between the legs.
4. BACKPACK
With main color yarn.
Rnd 1: ch 10, sc in second ch from hook, 7 sc, inc, 8 sc, no join. PM.
Rnd 2: blo: sc in each st around (18)
Rnds 3-9: sc in each st around (18)
Rnd 10: blo: sc in next 9 st only.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
Stuff lightly and sew closed.
